Achievement Centers for Children & Families is a community based organization dedicated to serving low-income children and families. Our mission is to ensure school readiness, provide skill building opportunities, promote academic achievement and support healthy lifestyles. Our affordable, nationally accredited programs allow families to work, increasing their overall stability. With a rich 48 year history, what started with two teachers in a donated Sunday school room has grown into a protective network of services for the underserved population living in Delray Beach. Today we employ more than 100 staff and serve nearly 800 children and their families on four campuses. Programming includes toddler, preschool, afterschool, teen, summer learning and family strengthening services. Our donors have made some amazing things possible: We provide more than 180,000 free meals to children each year; while low-income children typically lose two months of learning achievement over summer break, 2016 data shows our literacy initiatives resulted in statistically significant gains in reading levels for our summer learning students; families engaged in our family strengthening services have reported an increase in strengths and a decrease in stressors. Our supporters expand opportunities and help us meet the needs of children, families and the surrounding community. Every donated dollar goes far – 87¢ of every dollar goes directly to programs for children and families.
